SEO Consulting - YourSEOConsulting.com

This is a sponsored review for Search Engine Optimizers , a search engine optimization and marketing provider with over 10 years experience promoting sites online.

Offering a variety of services that are typical to companies of this kind, such as on-site search engine optimization including site usability, RSS feed management, link building campaigns, viral marketing, as well as pay-per-click advertising services.

All information is provided in blog posts that can be accessed through archives, or through drop-down menus in the header of the page. This allows them to comment on the many aspects of search engine marketing and online promotion, including, but not excluded to, discussions of reviews to promote your site and content generators.

As with all my reviews, I am a big fan of transparency, and this site did have a contact page listing the location and contact information for their company.

My only concern for this site was the navigation. I absolutely support the use of a blog format for this type of site, however I think they would be better off having the links in the header leading to static pages that summarize their content, rather than leading to blog posts related to the header links. They could perhaps have static pages listing popular or relevant posts related to these subjects, and I think they would benefit not only in their site usability, but also in their Google search rank for various applicable keywords.

The design is clean, and I enjoyed that their blog posts included images to make things seem less dry. My favourite aspect of their design is their motto: "Slow Cool Burn to Top Results". I really wish I had thought of that first. :)

So why not drop by YourSEOConsulting.com, you might learn a bit about search engine optimization and marketing that will help to promote your site or blog.

The Police rock and so does their EyeWonder banner

EyeWonder, a rich media advertising company, has created a fantastic banner to promote a band we have all heard about: THE POLICE!

Just click on the image to view.

This dynamic flash banner offers the following features:

Videos
This option allows you to watch a bunch of The Police's music videos, right from the comfort of the banner.
Track List / Jukebox
Here you can listen to some of the songs that will be featured on the 2-disc Definitive Police Collection, such as Roxanne and Everything Little Thing She Does is Magic.
Tour
Click here to link to the official Police website, and find out more about upcoming tour dates with the capability of purchasing tickets online. (For those in my neck of the woods, all Toronto tickets are sold out.)
Enter The Contest
Find out more about The Police contest to win the Grand Prize trip to New York City to see The Police live at Madison Square Garden. Second place prize is a signed copy of The Police, and third prize is a documentary about The Police, filmed by one of the band members, Stewart Copeland.
Send To Friend
Know someone who loves The Police? Sure you do.
Ringtones
Personalize your phone with the timeless tracks performed by The Police.

What's all the buzz about? They released a 2 disc compilation Police Cd on June 5th, and purchasing the CD also gets you a poster of the band, which is perfect timing to get everybody in "training" for their summer tour. In all honesty, I saw The Police in concert a few years ago. It was awesome, and I have been to a lot of concerts so I really know what I am talking about. :) I am actually disappointed that I did not hear about this sooner, as I likely would have gone to see them in Toronto.

So if you don't already have a few of The Police CD's I highly recommend getting this Definitive Collection. I love Collections because they usually include the best of the best. So I am going to go enter that contest now, because it might be the only way I will get to see The Police again, not to mention seeing them in New York City would be fabulous as I have never been.

Playing Poker Online for Mac Users

Macintosh users can now rest easy - as I have found the source for all your poker needs online. Mac Poker, an established source of online poker tips and news, boasts many different features on their site. Having teamed up with some of the biggest names in online poker, they are offering a poker bonus and other online casino bonuses to anyone who signs up, and they provide a full listing of sites that cater specifically to Mac users.

As well, they offer frequently updated poker news, including tournament offers and information about changes to their site, as well as about legal issues that impact online gamblers. Done in a blog style format, if you love poker, I am sure you will appreciate their extensive reporting on the subject of poker.

In their Poker Growth section, they provide beginners and pros the opportunity to enhance their skills by reading their articles and guides relating to the game. As the girl who claps her hands and squeals when she gets good hand, I have no doubt I will find their poker strategy guide useful.

My favorite section, however, was their growing biographies listing of famous poker players. Clearly this site was created by a great lover of the game, and it is nice to see so many great players profiled here. In addition I noticed some very lovely female poker players being celebrated on this site.

The people at Mac Poker have coupled their vast array of poker related information with a nice, clean design that was created for usability. I found my way through their site with great ease, and the green color made me think money. A great design for a poker site, and it was nice to see that the site was not cluttered with ads as one would expect in this type of site.

I can tell immediately that Mac Poker Online aims to inform and aid its visitors in their quest to win big, and I feel that this site should be useful not only to Mac users, but to all online gamblers in fact. It is a great resource, not to mention they have plenty of bonus codes for players and that alone I am sure is reason enough to check out this great poker site. :)

BlogsWeLuv for Blogathon 2007

Someone suggested I stop by BlogsWeLuv - Glad I did! This a great new blog review concept, whereby two bloggers "will use this site to review unique and interesting blogs that [they have] discovered on [their] many trips around the blogosphere." Created for Blogathon 2007, these two bloggers have committed to posting every 30 minutes for 24 hours for charity.

With already a bunch of reviews under their belt, they are clearly in "blogathon training". I may participate - which means I would have to answer 10 questions about myself and my blog. I figure I have no problem blabbering on about myself and my blog, so this should be no problem.

And a blogathon? A marathon of blogging? For a good cause? Geez, I would practically pay for the opportunity to do this. No one could accuse me of blogging too much then, because it would be for charity. :)

One of the ten questions I would be really interested in pondering and answering:

How has blogging made you a better person?

Because you know what: I think blogging it has made me a better person, though I have never thought about this, and it would be really fun to figure out how so.

Kudos Mike and Tish! Stop by and support these two talented and creative bloggers - it's for a good cause, after all. Or if you have 24 hours to spare on July 28, why not participate in the Blogathon, as well?

SEO is for Girls theme - Looking for feedback

So I have mentioned my new blog like a kajillion times now - and I have put up the new theme. The graphics were all done by my friend Hernan at BlogHound (Thanks!) and I think it looks great. But I want to know what you think.

So just click on the little button you see there (it says SEO is for Girls) and let me know what you think. Keep in mind it is still in "beta" and I don't have any posts up yet. I just want to know what you think of my new digs. Mike at Ordinary Folk commented on the look of this blog without me even having to ask, so I figured I would post something here to elicit more comments.

I want my first real post to have some pop and zing, and I have started working on it. So girls, let me know if you are interested in participating. This is an SEO blog for Girls by Girls... and Boys too. :)

Free Sunday Blog Reviews: 3rd Edition

How do you get a Free Sunday Blog Review on my Pink Internet Marketing blog? Comment on my blog - and make it a good one. I will pick 5 blogs for a mini-review here every Sunday. Just my way of saying "Thanks for stopping by" and to encourage comments from other bloggers.

This week I got many comments from new visitors to my blog. Yay! Much like Mike at Ordinary Folk, I feel so popular this week too. ;-)

The Sapheyerblu Review - A great blog by a blogger who seems to love writing as much as I do. This blog is an honest look at various money making opportunities, and offering many links to freebies and contests that we can all participate in. I like this blog a lot, mostly for its honesty which is somewhat rare in these types of blogging for money blogs. As well, it is fun to read and candid, not just a dry collection of reviews and opportunities.

Ordinary Folk - Okay doing a short review for this blog will be hard, because there are so many things I could say about it that I don't know if I can. Chronicling his adventures in blogging and featuring Gummy the Lovesick Alien cartoons, this blog is fun and funny, and Mike definitely has the Power of Schmooze! I love reading his posts about the many aspects of blogging, and it is so rewarding to comment on his blog because he responds. Love it! This is all I am going to say here, because I made my mind up to do a full review for this one. Great job Mike... and everybody should vote for him to get paid to blog for a year. I did.

Aaron Cook dot com
- This guy has a head of fire and a heart of gold, and he lets that "shine" through in his blog. With lots of great posts about monetizing your blog, he also has some great "random" posts about just about everything else that is important about him, as well as some rather funny YouTube videos. My only question: Is that really him swallowing fire? Yikes! Check out his Blogger Code of Conduct post in Randomicity.

Me and My Drum - A great blog full of opinionated posts - and isn't that what blogging is all about? Featuring some great category titles such as Enough Already and Gimme A Break this blog has a lot to offer with regards to creating your own blog. I love the honest and candid approach taken here. Full of social commentary, this blogger definitely walks to the beat of his own drum.

So just four this week, but hopefully next week I will get 5 new commentators on my Pink Internet Marketing blog. :) Thanks to everybody who commented this week, and hopefully I will see you again!

Boosting my blogjuice with the bloglines list

I have been included in a Bloglines list, thanks to Matt Huggins' blogging for money blog. The number of Bloglines subscribers to your feed is apparently very important to your BlogJuice, and this is all news to me. While I know about search engine optimization, all these new things related to blogging are going to be my next learning subject to tackle. I hope this will help me finally get accepted into ReviewMe for more than just the campaign reviews. Not that I think I will get many requests, but it would still be a big moment for me in "my blogging career". :)

So if boosting my blogjuice with the bloglines list will help me, why not try it out.

***Start Copying Here:***

Here are the rules:

1) If you don’t have a bloglines account signup for one, if you do have a bloglines account sign in to your account!

2) Write a short introduction paragraph about how you found the Bloglines list and include a link to the blog that referred you to the list.

3) COPY the Rules and ENTIRE List below and post it to your blog. To avoid duplicate content and increase the amount of keywords your site can be accessible for, go ahead and change the titles of the blog. Just don’t change the links of the blog.

4) Take “My New List” and move them into the “The Original List”.

5) Add 3-5 Blogs that you’ve just added to your Bloglines List to the “My New List” section. Remember to also add the “List the Site” link next to your new blogs (i.e. http://www.bloglines.com/sub/http://www.theblogurl.com/feed).

6) Add everyone on this list to your Bloglines List by clicking on “List the Site.” Those who want good kharma will list you back. If not, you will for sure get the benefits of readers from the bloggers who continue this list after you.

What colour hat are you?

SEOguy recently posted this about the different SEO hats that we can all wear. So what hat are you? You might remember him from the seocontest I recently participated in, he is a very skilled SEO not to mention a whiz with graphics. I am a girl, so I wear all the hats I guess depending on what I am wearing, but I definitely wear more pink than anything else! :-)

The day I realized I was a blogger

Moved to PINK SEO
Pink SEO

Passion trumps the rest

I have been blogging since March 2007 but as with anything I do, "once I get going you can't hold me down, and once I get started I go to town" (Chocolate Watch Band, I'm not like everybody else). So, not only have I been blogging regularly, but I have also been regularly visiting other blogs. What I have noticed is that I will find myself reading blogs whose subject matter holds no interest for me, yet certain blogs hold my interest in such a way that I return, sometimes even to my surprise.

About a month ago, in the Bloggeries blog forum, I said that it does not really matter what you blog about so long as you are passionate about what the subject, and that allowing the fact that you are excited about what you are writing shine through will gain you more readers than if you blog on "popular" topics.

Alternatively, if you manage to show that you are passionate about "popular" topics, you have got it made! And this is what I have found with msdanielle's blog site.

Now besides the obvious fact that msdanielle and I share the same name, which further proves the value of being a Danielle, there is so much I like about this blog, and trust me, I am not the only one.

msdanielle loves her blog! After a few months of blogging, she declares "My Baby is Two Months Old Today!" and in this post, you can tell she is excited about what she is doing, and her excitement rubs off. You know that she is not going to all of sudden stop blogging, so you know that you will get to read more and you won't suddenly have to one day find a new place to visit to get your dose of quirky and often informative posts about a wide range of things from the debate: Make Money Online vs. Get Rich Quick to her quest for a pair of shoes.

And now msdanielle is offering an MS Zune 30GB to one lucky blogger who reviews her blog. Now this Zune has been around the block apparently, but it remains in the package and is brand new. A Zune with a history, I can live with that.

First page for internet marketing London Ontario

I have known for a while now that Google "likes my blog". Not romantically, but Google does seem to appreciate it in some way. I decided to test this out a few days ago by changing my title tags to "internet marketing" and adding a few select keywords and a post about search engine optimization in the city. I also did this because I thought it would be funny to see my pink blog among the more reputable web design and online promotion companies in the city.

And well pretty much overnight my site is on page 1 (I include London Ontario in the keywords, because I want to aim for local rank first). Now I know that Google likes blogs, it likes new blog posts and generally these will rank well initially, and then start to drop. I linked to that post from my first page so that it will stay "current" as well to test how long I can make it stay there.

I am not in #1 YET but I am sure that given a few weeks, and taking into account the fact that my blog has morphed, I am sure I can enjoy seeing my Pink Marketing Blog among the ranks of "professionals". And hey, if someone happens to think to themselves: this girl is better than them and no doubt cheaper because there is no overhead and she does not really know how much to charge... all the better, right? I would not mind trying out SEO professionally, and I have no doubt that I am fully capable of doing so.

And in related news: for my contest keywords, I have moved to #2 in all search engines even with my title tags having changed. Not bad I would say, to be #2 in every one of the three major search engines. And did you know that bluehatseo.com participated in the contest as well? So Pink Hat is clearly the smarter choice. ;-) The number 1 site is nowhere to be found now as well. Strange.

Offer prizes and they will blog

Now I know as well as anyone how running a contest and offering a too-tempting prize can do to promote your site. This blog was born in a contest after all. An seocontest, however, is probably the most extreme type of linkbait, but there are less costly ways of holding a contest.

These contests generally entail offering a prize for writing a post about your blog, including a link or two for specific keywords. Though some object to these kinds of contests, I think they are a great idea for getting links to your site and getting the word out about your site. Besides that, the very fact that you are hosting a contest creates a buzz around your blog.

Here are a few contests that I have found that you can participate in as a blogger:

Win Free Business Books

Review me & Win a Palm Pilot

I think it might be fun to have a contest like this. I would enjoy sending away the prize with one of my blank Scrabble note cards saying: Congrats on winning! :-) What prize would I offer though?
Pink SEO

I put my adsense ads back up and soon I will make 2 dollars

Considering I need to make $100 dollars to make money with AdSense... exactly how long do you think it will take for me to actually see any money from this? That is one thing that bothers me about all these content link providers and many other money making opportunities online. You always have to make a minimum amount before you get paid, and by that time you could be dead or the internet will not exist anymore and information will be transmitted telepathically. ;-P
Pink SEO

Most people are too nice to tell you if your blog stinks

I have been blogging for over two months now, and for the most part my blog has been read by participants of the seocontest, and by people that I have met online as I have explored blogging. Generally people are nice, and I even got a few reviews in BlogCatalog saying I was a "lovely blogger". Very kind, a little generous I might add.

Unless my theory that it does not matter if what you are blogging about is interesting, so long as you are passionate about it, is correct... ?

In any case, generally people have been supportive of my blogging efforts, occasionally commenting on my blog and checking in every once in a while. And though I am happy that this has occurred, this for me is just a bonus and was not my initial intention. For most bloggers however, Technorati rank is more important that Google rank, and you might wonder to yourself at some point: Does my blog stink?

Along with the added bonus of getting links to a possibly and hopefully not stinky blog ;-), getting your blog reviewed can be a good way to find out what you are doing right and what you are doing wrong.

Now you would have to get reviewed by a few blogs, and while you want them to be similar in subject, try to find a few that are different in tone. This is important because you don't want to get your blog reviewed by people who are just like you because of course they will like your blog. If your tone is cheerful pick some surly blogs, and vice versa and so on.

Get Reviewed At ReviewMe!

I have been toying with the idea of getting my SEO is for Girls blog reviewed once it has been up for at least six months and I feel satisfied that I won't have to hear it is stinky.

Well I will be trying to sell a few links on my internet marketing blog and as well I will be doing some reviews on this blog pertaining to internet marketing and online promotion. I mean, I have a nice big fat PR3 blog that may just increase in PR at the next update so why the heck not?

search engine optimization and marketing

Each site and keyword set is different. The strategy for your site must be tailor-made to it's particular needs. Here is a basic run-down of what I do here at SEO is for Girls. Keyword Strategy - Identify the top "keywords" that the client's target market is searching for on the Internet. This list will contain "wishlist" keys and then supply and demand analysis for each keyword. From this we ascertain the "money" keywords, as in the keys offering the best return.

Market Analysis - Having completed the list of top keywords we then apply them to the top search engines and understand the competitive landscape. Who is ranking at the top for these keys and why? We pull the competitors sites apart understand exactly what they are doing including analyzing their incoming links. This enables us to develop a strategy to beat them for placement.

Site Analysis - Full analysis of the current site. We make sure that there are no issues in the design / navigation or site structure that may affect your rankings.

On-Site Search Engine Optimisation - This where we implement the keyword strategy at a page level. Optimizing keyword titles, descriptions and tags, inserting keyword phrases in the existing text. Working the navigation to incorporate text links and more.

Off-Site Search Engine Optimization (Link Building) - Link popularity, meaning incoming links to your site from other sites, is a essential component of top search engine rankings campaign today. I manually find the best directories for your site and submit your site for inclusion. This strategy also includes contacting non-competing relevant websites that may offer a sponsorship opportunity.

Reporting - Monitor your rankings, we provide in depth reporting detailing ranking improvements, search traffic both PPC and organic.

Maintenance - This is an ever-changing world and as competitors come and go and search engines change algorithms, constant attention needs to be given to stay on top.

The Internal Properties (On-Site) of the web site in terms of the site structure, the number of pages and coding of the website.

The External Properties (Off-Site) of the web site, in terms of what level of assistance is required to improve the number and quality of external links required for your site to compete successfully for higher search engine rankings.

My honourable mentions

Now there are some people that, while they did not win, maintained a good rank until the near end when things got a little crazy and the results were increasing by 10,000 or more a day.

Search engine optimization
expert from Canada was doing very well (mostly in the top 3) and should surely be commended on his white hat linkbuilding technique. He made me laugh (okay and smirk too) with his blonde jokes, too. And when he entered he climbed in Google very quickly. I bet you that his site will start to climb back up now too. (not a money bet, just a hypothetical)

Jeremy, the one who had #1 I think in all search engines for the first few months, was doing a great job. He seemed new to this like me, and he rocked the first part of the contest. He is now working on ranking this great goldendoodles site. Puppies are cute. He once said my site was cheap-ass... it was all part of my strategy, my friend. But I got over that, he seems like a nice enough guy and pretty funny too.

I know they did not win a prize, but they still worked very hard in the shopautodotca seocontest. Jeremy started on the date the contest began, but he had responsibilities that trumped his participation here, and I believe it was the same with our friend from the west. These are two other Canadians that participated in the shopautodotca seocontest.

Who else? My friend Hernan, who ranked #85 in Google for shopautodotca seocontest out of 240,000 results just by cheering me on in his blog that he created just two weeks ago... and with just a few links on my blog and in a few blogging communities. Way to go Hernan! You did great in the shopautodotca seocontest too! His blog that ranked #85 is here BlogHound

And The Old New Thing for their protest of the shopautodotca seocontest spam ending the contest with #8 in Google, #7 in Yahoo! and I could not find them in MSN, but hey, still pretty good I would say, 2 first page in protest of comment spam. Right on!

And what the heck happened with SEO guy because he was rocking the contest, then he dropped suddenly, and I cannot understand why because you don't just drop like that overnight... ? Like he went from #2 or #3 or something to page 2. And now just as quickly he is in #7. But he did very well, and was very friendly throughout his participation in the shopautodotca seocontest, which I appreciated.

How to survive an seocontest with under 1500 links

I have 1273 links listed in Google webmaster central and I have the most links indexed by Google... so how did I maintain a first page result in every search engine when there were 240,000 results when the seocontest ended?

The search engines loved my site, first of all. I am not just saying that, they did. The little spiders hate it when they are the only ones visiting your site, they like to know that you come as much, if not more.

My links rocked. Different ips for most of them, built over the course of the past few months, and many on other sites that search engines already loved.
Some of my faves:

Entrepreneurial Blog of Matt Huggins
Pink Hat SEO French Girls Team I also got a link from them on another domain
Izzatz the Retro Geek
Old Stone Match
InCinq (the link is my picture!)
Woman: God's Masterpiece

BTW - notice that now my site is in #3 in Google... and the results in the Google have dropped to 200,000. Why do I still care? Because it's not just important to me to rank high for an indeterminate period of time. I want to stay there, not for the shopautodotca seocontest or anything, because I want enduring results in the search engines.

The truth about the shopautodotca seocontest

Well, let me give you a more inside look into the mysterious world of the shopautodotca seocontest. You know, stuff I did not talk about until now but now will discuss freely.

Being a girl in an seocontest is different than being a boy in an seocontest. This is not just a thing that I am saying in passing, it is something I have thought about a lot throughout the contest. For the first month "SEO is for Girls" did not exist, my site was not pink, it was dark grey (made it hard for people to read, on purpose ;-P). I only felt this when I saw how cocky and macho people were in the contest, a lot of stuff in the forum I guess and other places. Then I just kind of thought to myself: Self, you are going to be a girl no matter what you do, and they are not going to think of you as anything but a girl, so be a girl. I read this on bruceclay blog and even though I would not call what I have been doing "cover the industry, injecting the news with a healthy dose of sarcasm" since I had to say shopautodotca seocontest a lot, but that is neither here nor there because Google does not care about that. And it was funny and ironic because until sexygurl entered the shopautodotca seocontest about 1 month ago, I was the only girl... But I was more than happy to have the company and hopefully I can get her to say a few words on my new SEO is for Girls blog. ;-) So that is the story behind SEO is for Girls.

I made friends with lots of people in the contest. I have commented on their blogs, met them in blog forums too, and emailed them as well. I have enjoyed making "friends" with everybody (well I am sure they are not inviting me over for dinner anytime soon, but you know what I mean, we have been friendly for the most part). The participants in this seocontest come from all over the world: Canada, US, Israel, Austria, India, Mauritius, Argentina, and a few more too. Not only that, but I have made friends with some people not in the shopautodotca seocontest just while touring about other blogs.

Another thing that I really enjoyed, and that I mentioned sometimes but I never said why, is that I have really come to enjoy blogging. Sure, I have always loved writing, and I have always had a "diary" though I went through phase where I called it a "journal" because it did not sound as dumb, but now I call it a diary again because it does not sound as pretentious. But the reason I love blogging, and reading other blogs as well, is that no one wants to listen to me. Okay they listen to me, but I can't talk about SEO, I can't talk about dumb things I am learning to do in perl (I am endlessly amazed by the smallest little thing I can do), and I can't talk about the internet period. And since I already stopped giving up trying to talk about books or films or politics or philosophy or social theory, what else is left? So I am just funny and whimsical, much like here but here I can be funny and whimsical while talking about what I want to talk about.

So that's the truth about the shopautodotca seocontest, well from my point of view anyways. But I don't think anyone else will be posting tell-alls on their blogs so that's the best you are going to get. ;-)

Now that the shopautodotca seocontest is over, I feel so absolutely free to do whatever I want. I am very excited about all the new possibilities and opportunities.

I have discussed my new blog (Coming Soon) SEO is for Girls and I am extremely excited about this, not only for myself, but for other women as well. I have yet to find a place "for girls" in the online SEO instruction world, and I don't know if I am the only one who would appreciate this, but I doubt that I am alone in this. And though I intend this blog to be an SEO blog, I want to incorporate some important issues relating to being a woman in a technical world. I want to discuss all kinds of SEO (not just pink hat) and the only thing I don't plan on discussing is using sex (aka naked women) for linkbait, mostly because this offends my feminist sensibilities.

I have a few SEO projects that I want to work on mostly for fun - yes, I am such a big fan of SEO that I enjoy doing it just for kicks. Just some random linkbuilding I will do for some people I have become acquainted with. Why? Because I can!

Another project I want to look into is starting a blog to make money blogging, and there are so many make money blogging blogs out there, no doubt I will have some small success. I mean, I don't want to quit my job or anything because I like working, I just want more money for computers, gadgets and clothes. Plus I am going to get to use my SEO skills there, so why the heck would I give it up?! I love SEO.

I have some more "personal and pointless pursuits" I want to explore, such as my computer purse which I will be building this summer. I will likely start a blog just to document this process. I am just going to use older computers that I get from people, and also buy some new parts as well as needed. This is going to be a heck of a lot more exciting for me than for anybody else, but that can be said about most things I enjoy doing.

I was also exploring the possibility of doing some SEO for charities - find charities that are "lost in the SERPs" and helping them to get some exposure for their cause. I figure that charities often will not have the funds to pay for something like this, so why not help them out! I am not sure of the details of how this will work but I am going to look into this idea.

Another thing I want to do: develop several Wordpress themes with links to my SEO is for Girls blog.

Official Results Posted

So the official results have been posted, however they checked the results days after the shopautodotca seocontest was over - so this blog was #2 in Yahoo and #2 in MSN because I was not aware that the shopautodotca seocontest was still going on and I began posting about other things and dropped for the keywords.

The Anti-Climax

Mysterious comment - I want to know what the mystery comment was all about... so if you posted the mysterious comment please continue... Curiosity will kill me. I was already robbed of my thunder because the contest organizers will not post the official winners and apparently don't seem to care that they are marring their company name... please don't rob me of my mystery comment too!

This weekend was the Weekend of the Anti-Climax.

MACHO-free blog: SEO is for Girls

So what do I plan to do with my new domain: http://www.seoisforgirls.com?

Okay there is nothing there now, but there will be.

Well I have mentioned it a few times, in passing. But I want to lay it out all out here:

It will be a blog about SEO (obviously) - but not pink hat SEO - all approaches to SEO I don't want to leave anything out at all - I want to even explore the more sordid tactics used
For and by Girls (again obvious)
I want to explore the whole being a girl and an SEO aspect (a bit of a feminist)

I want to get lots of guest bloggers:
They can discuss SEO
They can discuss other internet/blogging topics as well
Their sites to promote them (links and all)

Pretty much a place for girls like me - anything goes just like in my blog

But most importantly - MACHO-FREE blog - No macho - No cocky - No I think I am better than everybody and so I am going to talk shit all the time - None of that.

Okay, harder than I thought apparently

So staying away from this blog is apparently harder that I originally thought. But I am really busy with the long list of plans I had for after the shopautodotca seocontest was over (and I am pretty sure I also swore never to type those words again?!).

Here is what I have been doing:

I am moving http://bloghound.wordpress.com to http://www.bloghound.info
Still working on the fine tuning and I need to work out some stylesheet stuff, and I can't seem to figure out how to import the comments as well. Well, it's a learning process.

I have also purchased a new domain, my pearl, my gem, my beautifully wonderful domain name that I love so much and it is so wonderfully fabulous. Yes, if you have not guessed already:

http://www.seoisforgirls.com

Isn't it beautiful. I am more excited about this than the day I bought http://www.caspersspookymansion.com which has a link in TIME - I mean big whoop to have a link in LAME-O dmoz that stinks because you can't get your site in but it is filled with crap sometimes. I have a link in TIME. I put up some quick site just so I would have something there but now I am doing something I am not sure if I should because it is silly beyond compare. Okay you can't laugh - and keep in mind I am not some crazy Casper the Friendly Ghost fanatic I am really just bizarre.

So here goes: a blog about Casper the Friendly Ghost from the perspective of Wendy the Good Little Witch. teehee See I am bizarre. ;-) Just don't read it that's all, no one else will.

Taking a break

Okay I am persona non gratae for my shopautodotca seocontest blog for the next few days because the shopautodotca seocontest is over, but I will reappear soon to let you know what is going on and where I will be blogging now that the shopautodotca seocontest is over. I need a few days off, I need to play video games which I have been neglecting lately.

Thanks to everybody who helped me

I was right! SEO is for Girls! Sort of. Okay, so I did not win a spot in Google for the shopautodotca seocontest keywords, but I still had this domain ranked in the top 5 in each search engine, which in my opinion is pretty good. *pat myself on the back*

But it would not have been possible without the help of many people along the way - helping me with links, cheering me on, making me cool graphics, giving me advice. As I did not have any other sites prior to the shopautodotca seocontest, I really had to count on other sites to link to my shopautodotca seocontest blog. And honestly, I was starting to crack under the pressure of the last few days, thus some pretty silly photoshop work.

So, tomorrow a victory scooter ride and maybe some Swiss Chalet delivery because I love Swiss Chalet and I love delivery. I deserve it anyways.

The Pink Hat French SEO Girls Team

So I got some fabulous good links to my shopautodotca seocontest site from the Pink Hat French SEO Girls Team... on a pink site no less. I want a team too! I want a posse of girls to optimize sites with. That would rock! I don't think there are that many girls in this city that are interested in SEO, if any. I will put up posters: SEO girls needed with those little tabs at the bottom you can rip off with my email on it and then I will have a posse. See how much fun they are having in the picture - they are all: We like fun water games and SEO! Lucky!

Here is what they say about themselves in their Girl's Diary for the globalwarming seocontest:

We are thus a girl gang, we are fond of search engine optimization.

That is so awesome. I am a gang of one and I am also fond of search engine optimization! I am super excited that I have had the chance to get in contact with these rocking chicks that like SEO as much as I do, and I am glad that they have supported my SEO is for Girls entry in the shopautodotca seocontest.

Meet in the forum for the shopautodotca seocontest

I think we should all go the shopautodotca seocontest forum when it is June 15 to post the results of the search engines for shopautodotca seocontest. Just to be on the safe side, as my email to the organizers as to the time for the end of the shopautodotca seocontest has gone unanswered.

The widget is set to Columbian time, but in Canada when it says there is one hour left it is actually midnight my time and the shopautodotca seocontest is over? Or is it just some random time tomorrow? (I am sorry Hernan, I did not have the heart to tell you because it was so pretty :-S) So when the SEO is for Girls widget says one hour left then the contest is over - unless you guys want to extend the shopautodotca seocontest another hour? It's up to us I guess what time the seocontest is over? Do you want to extend it another week? Haha. Joke. Make the shopautodotca seocontest end.

Congratulations to everyone in the shopautodotca seocontest!

I think everybody in the shopautodotca seocontest ought to be pretty darn proud - big pat on the back! I have never been in an seo contest before, the shopautodotca seocontest is my first. I had fun, I did not have fun, I learned a lot, and I unlearned a lot. Honestly, at the beginning of the shopautodotca seocontest, I did not know the significance of anchor text. :-D

But I figured it all out well enough in my opinion. I got links in a hundred different unobtrusive ways. I contributed what I had learned for links, I exchanged links, I asked for links, I got links given to me by surprise, I did reviews for links, I submitted links. Variety is after all the spice of life. ;-)

So I think everyone should congratulate themselves for a job well done in the shopautodotca seocontest. It was some tough competition you guys (and sexygurl who agrees I am sure that SEO is for Girls!) I hope to stay where I am for the next couple days at least for shopautodotca seocontest but I have a distinct feeling that I may move down if I decide to keep this blog until I get set up my new blog that will have absolutely nothing to do with shopautodotca seocontest.

So still #4 in Google for shopautodotca seocontest

Still #1 in MSN for shopautodotca seocontest (sexygurl is in #2 for MSN because SEO is for Girls, right? A very recent entry, she rose up quickly in MSN for shopautodotca seocontest, and had #1 for a while. Impressive. MSN must be girl search engine because for about a month and a half before all the recent entries, I had #1 in MSN.)

And still #3 in Yahoo! forshopautodotca seocontest

My shopautodotca seocontest is the cutest

Okay so maybe my shopautodotca seocontest is not #1 in all the search engines, and maybe my shopautodotca seocontest site has 0.005 the number of links that other shopaudotca seocontest entries have, but my seocontest site is by far the cutest in the shopautodoca seocontest. ;-)

So I am #3 in Yahoo!and #1 in MSN and #4 in Google for shopautodotca seocontest. Which seems about right since my blog is the cutest and being the cutest is important.

So if all stays as is, I win #2 prize for shopautodotca seocontest $1000 in Yahoo! and #1 prize for shopautodotca seocontest in MSN $2500 and nothing for Google because I am in fourth spot. Hopefully in the next few hours Google will say: What were we thinking! SEO is for Girls rocks! And Yahoo! will say: okay we think so too.
