I would love to visit Edinburgh

I have some blogging buds in Edinburgh, and I would love to see more of the United Kingdom than the one time I had a stop over in the Heathrow airport. I was surfing the net to find out more about this beautiful place to visit and live. This town is full of history. The first Harry Potter book was written in an Edinburgh cafe, Robert Louis Stevenson was born here, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born here, and the word "caddie" originated here.

This town is full of interesting things to do, and in fact they have the biggest New Year's street party here every year. They have a huge arts festival in August that draws half a million people. Home of the world famous St. Andrews golf course, and surrounded by beautiful countryside and castles, Edinburgh should definitely be on my list of places to go.

There are plenty of hotels in Edinburgh as well as restaurants, this is no small town. They have over 400 thousand inhabitants and that doubles during the art festival so they need to have accommodations. There are some cheap Edinburgh hotels, and there are some very expensive Edinburgh accommodations to suit your needs.

Personally, I hate golf. But I always thought if I were to play golf it would be somewhere like Edinburgh. And I would enjoy it because of the history that accompanies the sport. And it would not feel as pretentious maybe as it does when I play snooty country club golf.
