My blog is rich!
Matt reports his blog earnings each month on his blog, and I like this because it is nice to see how much money can be made blogging for a newbie. It is so disheartening for those looking to monetize their blogs and to see people making $150,000 a year - then you think: I must be doing something wrong. I like that Matt is transparent about how much he is making, and so inspired by his honesty, I thought I would do the same.
I have AdSense ads, and as well I am doing reviews for ReviewMe. I have also added some other blogs to my ReviewMe account so that I can review different kinds of sites, meaning that there are more opportunities available to me, and as well I do not ruin the integrity of this blog as much. But check out THE INCREASE in my blog earnings. This month I have also added Blogsvertise and PayPerPost in an effort to get more opportunities, as well.
I have been exploring pretty much every way I can find to monetize my blog. I don't harbour any dreams of making it rich by blogging, I am just a Curious George and I am trying to experience all aspects of blogging. In May, I was still in the contest, and I contented myself doing some reviews for ReviewMe as part of campaigns. Now I am trying out a few different money making bloggertunities, such as PayPerPost and Blogsvertise. And as you can see, I am increasing the amount of money I make on my blog. This money I plan on reinvesting into my online efforts. I think I am going to use some of this money this summer to get some prizes to host a contest. I think contests are super fun and I want to do something a little different, we will see.
Any suggestions as to what I should do with my earnings? Keep in mind I want the money to go back into my blog. Should I host a contest, and what should the prizes be? Or should I pay for a review? Or should I buy my blog a new pair of shoes? Okay, so the last one is an indirect investment - because a happy blogger is a good blogger! :P Pink SEO

Looks like you're making out well! You've picked up a lot on various ways of making money fast, way to go. :)
Thanks Matt! I am a smart cookie, but your blog has been my main source of information. I don't really follow any other blog about making money online, because I really think yours is the best.
So you keep it up, and I will keep soaking up all the useful information you provide on your blog. :D
I'd love to know your secret for getting any opportunities with ReviewMe. Every time I log in...nothing :P
Well, I am doing the campaign reviews, not the reviews where people "pick me". These pay between $5-$8 generally and my blog is in the category "web development". I think it depends what category your blog is in.
Now that I have added a few other blogs to review me, and have them all for different categories, I have many more opportunities open to me. I now have 4 blogs on my account and I am adding 1 more today. Since I can blog on many blogs, this means I don't have to shove all the reviews onto this blog, and as well I can do all kinds of different reviews that may not fit here.
Also, I don't really care if it is not "on-topic" with my blog - as my blog is so freaking eclectic, I don't have to be so selective about what I review.
The only thing I don't like is being limited to 10 reviews a month - it seems silly that they limit you like that. The should limit you to 10 per month on one domain, not 10 in total for your account.
Yeh, I figured you were doing the campaign reviews. I don't even get those. It says there's absolutely nothing regardless of what category I stick my blog into.
For the heck of it I just deactivated my blog and strangely it shows a price of $60 for it, yet when I reactivate it that price goes away and it shows nothing.
I really think ReviewMe just doesn't like me :(
Well, according to ReviewMe I can't spell and have bad grammar, so what do they know anyways!?
Hehe..It's sooo true. I can hardly understand a word you write ;) Never mind the fact that I understood your last reply.
I chuld buy a dactionary so I cun speel.
I think you should write your next review like that :D
I was going to suggest the same thing, Danielle. I'm glad you brought it up first though, cause that could have just been awkward! ;)
Congratulations on your monetary success. I personally think you should hold a very odd contest. I am not sure what yet, but I think something very unique would fit your personality and site perfectly.
I think you could become famous for being the girl that gave out X as a prize. I am just not sure what X should be yet.
Well, I've always loved the idea of displaying the income earned by a blog. i don't do it regularly (I did it once..I think). I concentrate on making my blog popular and that has actually paid me....I used to waste all the time in reading rss feeds and checking the stats, but now I concentrate on commenting on other blogs and that is helping me a lot!
Yes, I absolutely agree, though I do love checking stats.
I think I needed an excuse to post a bar graph. :)
Andrew, I agree that I need to think of something ultra-unique. I am actually quite crafty and artistic so I was thinking I could make something - but I don't know how much response I would get for something homemade. But I can make some pretty cool things though...
I will think about it some more and wait until I can come up with the perfect idea.
Hi Danielle, kudos to you and your money making efforts! Have you tried SponsoredReviews? They were the first I joined, but lately they've been kind of dry on the opportunities, and you have to bid on them, which stinks sometimes.
I'll have to give Blogsvertise a looking into. And like Mike, I've never had much success with ReviewMe. Everytime I login, nothing. Grrr.
Thanks Mark!
Blogsvertise has only given me one opportunity so far, I believe you must wait to be selected for a review. But I think it is a good idea to be part of all of these, as I will get more opportunities this way. I got to review a poker site, which was interesting for me, and it was actually a really cool site.
I think with ReviewMe it is important to check a few times a day to see if any opportunities have come up, as they likely get snagged up quickly.
I have signed up with Sponsored Reviews, I still must wait to be approved by them. So we will see!
After listening to Ryan tell me for months and months that I could make money with blogging, well I figured I had nothing to lose since I already had the ffblog, that meant all I had to do was put a little effort into getting it active, so that is what I have done and to my delight it has generated a rather nice income for me for June which is close to $400 between (5) sites that I blog for which are
1. PayPerPost
2. Blogitive
3. Blogvertise - Not receiving many offer from them at all.
4. Smorty
5. Bloggerwave
Payperpost and Blogitive are my top 2 contenders, I am currently in the process of activating another blog and working on getting it eventually approved as well.
