I checked the rank of his site at the beginning of the contest for "make money blogging" and for "win free business books". Soon he will surpass John Chow in fact for make money blogging. This competition to win free business books (and a link) will no doubt help his site rank well in many various searches.

With the shopautodotca seocontest there is the general drive to have all links with shopautodotca seocontest as anchor text... but is that always necessary? For example, many links (albeit "nofollow" links) have my name "Danielle" as the anchor text to my site in blog comments. For a while I was putting shopautodotca seocontest as my name, but I thought that was lame and spammy and I comment on blogs because I enjoy doing so and in order to contribute, not to promote my own shopautodotca seocontest site.
